Job Description

We're partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in North Houston to identify an experienced Cost Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys collaborating across operations, finance, procurement, and engineering teams.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong manufacturing accounting background who can analyze costs, improve processes, and provide meaningful financial insights that support business decisions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, materials, and overhead expenses
  • Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and financial data to support operational decision-making
  • Maintain standard costs, bill of materials (BOMs), and product costing within the ERP system
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Partner with production, procurement, engineering, and quality teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
  • Assist with inventory counts, audits, and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiencies
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic cost analysis initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and product costing
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multiple departments

Highly Preferred:

? Experience with SAP
? Fluent/Bilingual in Spanish and English
? CMA certification or progress toward certification
